No Texting While Driving

AAA Hoosier Motor Club continues to push for new laws that will help make Indiana roadways safer for drivers and their passengers.

The club is currently supporting House Bill 1279 in the state’s General Assembly which would make it an infraction for motorists to send a text message or email while driving.

This morning, a House committee unanimously voted in favor of the bill.

House Bill 1279 will now be sent to the full House for debate.

Keep at it AAA! People are dying and being killed because someone can’t wait to read or respond to a text message while they’re driving. Think about it…is it really that important to respond right then and there?! Thanks AAA for going to bat for the regular driver who just wants to get to his/her destination in one piece! Cudos!

I think this is important. The drivers of automobile have enough distractions already. Texting takes their eyes and concentration off the road and surroundings. Driving has become so conjested, they need to have their full attention on the road instead of worrying about a text.

This is a good thing. I think we today’s traffic and conjestion on the roads that the driver needs to have his undivided attention on the road.
