Driver Education Classes

Tuesday, February 17th, 2009

My oldest child is just a few years away from the age at which he’ll begin learning how to drive.

That’s scary…for MANY REASONS!

However, when that time comes, it’s very comforting to know that AAA Hoosier Motor Club has an approval and recommendation process for ensuring that my child will get the very best in driver education.

The club’s Approved Driving School Network (ADSN), which affiliates only the best of the best Indiana commercial driving schools, is geared toward changing the face of new driver training in Indiana by encouraging more teens to participate in pre-licensing education. Additionally, the club hopes to improve the quality of existing driver education programs in the state which will hopefully result in safer drivers and safer roadways.

Another very appealing part of AAA Hoosier Motor Club’s ADSN program is that affiliated schools offer class enrollment discounts to AAA members.

Senate Bill 16 Moves Forward

Thursday, February 5th, 2009

Here’s an update directly from the Indiana Statehouse, compliments of AAA Hoosier Motor Club Public Affairs Specialist Sherry Deane.

Senate Bill 16–a much-needed enhancement of Indiana’s existing Graduated Driver’s Licensing (GDL) law–passed out of the Senate today by an impressive 43-6 margin!

The legislation will now move to Indiana’s House of Representatives for committee consideration and hopefully beyond that for a full House vote.

It’s extremely important that we get this bill passed into law in order to better protect young, inexperienced Indiana teenage drivers as well as everybody who shares the roads with them, for that matter.

Now is the time for anyone who wants to help with this effort to contact their local representatives and encourage them to support SB16.
